Preparing for the Warmer Weather

Although we have had cold weather and a few refreshingly warm days, we should all begin to prepare our homes for Spring.
  • Chimney Cleaning: Generally, call in a professional for these types of jobs to ensure the safety of your chimney.
  • Uncover Air Conditioners and Maintain: Maybe it is not warm enough for your air conditioner or central air system, but you want to make sure they work this coming Summer.
  • Put the Screens Back in Windows: Now that it won't be very cold, as you clean the house, you can have windows out.
  • Adjust the Thermostat
Turning the thermostat up by even two or three degrees will mean that the unit won’t run as much. If you make sure that there are no areas where the warm air from outside can get into the home, then this can help to save a good bit of money. You can get a programmable thermostat so that you can set the temperature for different times of the day.
  • Getting the Unit Checked Before you start using the unit for the season, you need to get it checked to make sure the filters are clean and to ensure that the vents are free of any kind of dirt or debris. Companies like New York Boiler & Air Conditioning Repair. can come to the home to examine the unit to look at the freon level and to see that the unit will operate as it should.
